Terms of Service

Our dedicated team of print advisors and graphic designers in our NYC studio, providing hands-on craftsmanship and integrated translation services for modern brands.

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service (201cTerms201d) govern your use of the services provided by Japan Printing & Graphics, Inc. (201cJapan Printing,201d 201cwe,201d 201cour,201d or 201cus201d), including orders placed through our website at japanprint.com, by email to info@japanprint.com, by phone at 212-406-2905, in person at 48 Wall Street, 11th Floor, New York, NY 10005, or through an Imprint Brand Studio ordering portal. By placing an order or using our services in any form, you agree to these Terms in full.


2. Services

Japan Printing provides premium services to corporate clients, businesses, and individuals, including:

  • Printing: Business cards, stationery, marketing materials, promotional products, and specialty finishes including raised ink thermography, foil stamping, embossing, and letterpress
  • Branding: Brand identity development, brand guidelines, and brand-consistent ordering portals for corporate clients through our Imprint Brand Studio platform
  • Graphic Design: Design preparation, file adaptation, and original design services for print and brand applications
  • Translation: Document and print material translation services for clients requiring multilingual materials

All orders are subject to availability, production capacity, and our acceptance. We reserve the right to decline any order at our discretion.


3. Ordering

3.1 How to Place an Order

Orders may be placed through the following channels:

  • Website: Through our online store at japanprint.com
  • Email: By sending your order details to info@japanprint.com
  • Phone: By calling 212-406-2905 during business hours
  • In Person: By appointment at 48 Wall Street, 11th Floor, New York, NY 10005
  • Ordering Portal: Through your organization’s Imprint Brand Studio portal, if applicable

3.2 Order Confirmation

An order is confirmed only after you have received a written invoice or order confirmation from Japan Printing and payment has been received or Net 30 terms have been established. Verbal discussions and informal conversations do not constitute order confirmation.

3.3 File Requirements

You are responsible for providing print-ready files that meet our specifications. Japan Printing will advise you on file requirements prior to production. We are not responsible for output quality resulting from low-resolution files, incorrect color modes, or other file issues that fall outside our stated specifications and were approved by you.


4. Proofing and Approval

All orders require client approval of a digital proof before production begins. Proofs will be sent to the email address associated with your order.

By approving a proof — whether by clicking the approval button in our proofing system, by email confirmation, or by any other written acknowledgment — you confirm that the proof is correct in all respects, including layout, spelling, contact information, colors, and specifications.

Japan Printing is not responsible for errors in a proof that has been approved by the client. If an error is identified after approval and production has begun, we will make every reasonable effort to assist, but additional costs may apply.

Production will not begin until written proof approval is received. Japan Printing is not responsible for delays caused by late proof approvals.


5. Payment

5.1 Payment Terms

Payment is due upon invoice unless Net 30 terms have been established in writing. We accept payment by credit card and debit card through Stripe. Net 30 terms are available to approved corporate clients and are subject to our credit review.

5.2 Late Payments

Invoices not paid within the agreed terms may incur a late fee of 1.5% per month on the outstanding balance. Japan Printing reserves the right to suspend service to accounts with overdue balances until payment is received.

5.3 Taxes

Applicable sales tax will be added to orders where required by law. Tax-exempt organizations must provide a valid exemption certificate prior to invoicing.


6. Production and Turnaround

Turnaround times quoted by Japan Printing are estimates based on standard production schedules and begin only after proof approval and payment have been received. Japan Printing is not responsible for delays caused by factors outside our control, including but not limited to shipping carrier delays, inclement weather, or circumstances affecting our production partners.

Rush production may be available for certain products at an additional charge. Rush availability is not guaranteed and must be confirmed in writing.


7. Shipping and Delivery

Orders are shipped via UPS or other carriers unless pickup is arranged. Shipping costs are calculated based on destination, weight, and service level and will be included in your invoice or quoted separately.

Title and risk of loss for all orders pass to the client upon delivery to the shipping carrier. Japan Printing is not responsible for loss, damage, or delay caused by the shipping carrier after pickup. For orders shipped internationally, the client is responsible for all applicable customs duties, taxes, and import fees.

Japan Printing ships to domestic and international destinations including, but not limited to, clients with multiple locations across different countries. Delivery times for international shipments vary by destination.


8. Reprints and Refunds

Printing is a collaborative process. Our goal is long-term partnerships, not one-time transactions. When an issue arises, we review it together and find the most reasonable path forward.

8.1 Production Errors

If the printed piece differs materially from the approved proof due to a production error on our part, Japan Printing will, at our discretion, provide a free reprint or a full refund. Please notify us within 5 business days of receiving your order.

8.2 Client-Approved Errors

If the printed piece matches the approved proof and the error originates from the approved proof itself, Japan Printing is not obligated to provide a free reprint or refund. In these cases, we will work with you to find a practical and fair solution, which may include a discounted reprint.

8.3 Missed Committed Deadlines

If Japan Printing misses a committed production deadline that was confirmed in writing and the delay is attributable solely to our production process, we will offer a partial or full refund depending on whether the order is kept or returned.

8.4 General

Refund requests must be submitted in writing to info@japanprint.com within 5 business days of receiving the order. Japan Printing does not accept returns of custom printed materials except in cases of production error.


9. Intellectual Property and File Ownership

By submitting files, artwork, logos, or brand materials to Japan Printing, you represent and warrant that you own or have the legal right to use all such materials and that their use does not infringe on any third party’s intellectual property rights.

Japan Printing will not reproduce, distribute, or use your files or brand materials for any purpose other than fulfilling your order. Files submitted for production are stored in our systems for reorder consistency and may be retained in accordance with our data retention practices.

Any design services provided by Japan Printing in connection with your order remain the property of Japan Printing unless otherwise agreed in writing.


10. Imprint Brand Studio Portals

Corporate clients with an Imprint Brand Studio ordering portal hosted by Japan Printing agree to the following additional terms:

  • The portal is provided as a service to facilitate brand-consistent ordering. It is not a standalone software product and is operated exclusively through Japan Printing’s infrastructure.
  • Portal access credentials are confidential. Clients are responsible for maintaining the security of portal access information and must notify Japan Printing immediately of any unauthorized access.
  • Orders placed through a portal are subject to these Terms of Service in their entirety.
  • Japan Printing reserves the right to modify or discontinue portal functionality with reasonable notice to the client.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Japan Printing’s total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or our services shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the specific order giving rise to the claim.

Japan Printing is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to lost profits or business interruption, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.


12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of New York County, New York.


13. Changes to These Terms

Japan Printing reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be posted at japanprint.com with a revised effective date. Continued use of our services after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
